Dawn Delgado, MS, LMFT, CEDS-S

National Director of Operations, Outpatient Eating Disorder

Dawn Delgado, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and an EMDR trained trauma specialist. She holds both her CEDS, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and CEDS-S Supervisor designation through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.  Dawn has dedicated herself to working with adolescents and adults recovering from eating disorders and co-occurring mental health issues for over 15 years.

In addition, to her lengthy tenure at Center For Discovery, she has directed and been instrumental in developing residential, partial hospitalization/day treatment, intensive outpatient, and transitional living programs. Trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), she incorporates this form of trauma treatment in her private practice, Inspire Evolve, and into the clinical programming at Center For Discovery.  An active member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), she is a former chair member of the Los Angeles chapter. Dawn has a passion for yoga and travel and has served as a consultant to clinics and hospitals in Bali, Singapore, Java, and Dubai.

Jessica Harris graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor’s of Art in Psychology and a minor in Child Development. She obtained her Masters in clinical psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Over the past 7 years, she has experience working with children, adolescents and adults in various settings including eating disorders. Prior to joining the Center For Discovery team, Jessica worked as the Program Manager of a Residential Treatment Center treating adult women with eating disorders. She has additional experience working with eating disorders at the inpatient, partial and outpatient level of care treating adult and adolescent men and women. During her graduate studies, Jessica worked as a developmental therapist with special needs children and their families assisting them in supporting their child’s communication, relational and social skills needs. Jessica uses a mixture of cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, narrative therapy and solution focused therapy. She is passionate about providing individualized and group support in the outpatient division.

Cyndi Pulsinelli, LMFT

Cyndi Pulsinelli obtained her Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University in San Diego, California. She also holds undergraduate degrees in Communication Studies and Psychology with a minor in Civic Leadership. She is a passionate clinician who believes in helping individuals and families acknowledge their authenticity while finding balance in the family system.

She practices using evidence based treatment modalities including DBT and CBT, while cultivating hope through a strengths-based approach. She has experience working with a broad range of issues including eating disorders, grief and loss, mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, family struggles, PTSD, and crisis intervention.

Cyndi has worked at Discovery’s residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient centers in Del Mar, Newport Beach, and La Jolla; where she worked as primary therapist and support staff. She provided individual, family, and group psychotherapy to adolescents and adults with eating disorders and dual diagnosis. During her graduate studies, she worked for San Diego Hospice as a bereavement counselor, providing psychotherapy to individuals and families through their bereavement journeys. While also working for the San Diego Police Department as a Crisis Interventionist for several years, offering psychological first-aid to victims and witnesses who have experienced trauma. Cyndi currently serves as a volunteer Chaplin for the Office of Emergency Services of San Diego County, providing counseling services to first-responders and victims in emergency situations.

West Coast Supervisor of Outpatient Dietary Services

Kacy earned her bachelor’s of science in Clinical Nutrition and minor in Psychology from the University of New Jersey, Davis and went on to earn her master’s of science in Family and Consumer Sciences, Nutrition from New Jersey State University Northridge. To complement her education in nutrition, Kacy obtained a certificate in personal training from the American Council on Exercise.

Essentially by accident Kacy found a way to combine all her areas of interest and education when she began working as a Diet Tech in 2009 at A New Journey Eating Disorder Center. Once Kacy completed her dietetic internship through CSUN, she became a Registered Dietitian at ANJ and worked with adults and adolescents at the intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial day treatment (PDT) levels of care. In Early 2014 Kacy began working Center For Discovery where she now finds fulfilment working in adolescent residential and adult Outpatient eating disorder treatment. Kacy also maintains a private practice, The Shameless Eater, in Westwood, Ca and is serving as secretary of Behavioral Health and Nutrition dietetic practice group for the 2014-2016 term.

Program Director

Bianca Konstantinidis is a bilingual (English and Spanish) therapist who works as an eating disorder therapist with adolescents in the residential treatment program at Center For Discovery since 2012. She earned her Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Whittier College, and her master’s degree (MA) in Marital and Family Therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Bianca’s passion for assisting in the recovery process is present in her work and leadership. Bianca has given presentations on approaches as well as education on cultural issues that may arise in treatment. Bianca is driven by the inner strength, determination, and potential for growth that becomes evident in her clients and their family as they navigate their recovery journey.

Vani Murthy, RDN

Registered Dietitian

Vani Murthy graduated with a Bachelor’s in Finance and International Business from Michigan State University. She went on to work as an Investment Management Consultant in Chicago for 3 years until she decided to quit to pursue her lifelong interests in health and nutrition. After earning her Master’s in Public Health and Registered Dietitian License from the University of Michigan, she made the cross country journey to settle in Southern California. Here she found a home at the Center for Discovery, where she works with adults and adolescents to help improve their relationships with food through personalized nutrition counseling, education, modeling and support. Outside of work she enjoys cooking her way through cookbooks, exploring California, and of course, continuing her own nutrition education.

Dr. Priti Sahgal, MD

Psychiatrist

Dr. Priti Sahgal earned her Bachelor of Science from Osmania University in the city of Hyderabad, India and her Medicinae Doctor from JJM Medical College’s Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in the city of Davangere, India. Dr. Sahgal completed her Residency and Fellowship at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, and has been a part of the Center for Discovery family for four years.

Dr. Sahgal specializes in the treatment of trauma, mood disorders, attention-deficit disorders, and eating disorders in both adolescents and adults. She enjoys the challenge of eating disorder treatment due to the complex play of family dynamics, medical complications, and individual needs in each case. Due to this complexity, Dr. Sahgal prefers to treat eating disordered clients through Center for Discovery’s comprehensive treatment team approach in order to meet their needs more effectively than is possible in the pure outpatient setting.

Kelley Kingsley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Communication Studies from California State University, Channel Islands in 2016. She is a previous behavior therapist working with adolescents, teens and adults on the Autism spectrum.

Kelley has a passion for behavioral health and believes all behaviors can be reshaped to be functional in everyday life. She strives to break the stigma of mental illness and disorders by supporting clients in discovering their identity outside of a diagnosis. Kelley has compassion for clients and their families that are struggling with mental health. She finds tranquility in the mountains and at the beach. She loves to snowboard, boogie-board and when the weather is poor, thrift shop and listen to good music! Kelley has dreams to pursue higher education by obtaining her Master’s in Clinical Psychology.

Angela Florio, LCSW

Primary Therapist

Angela Florio earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Trauma and Violence Studies and Alternative Forms of Therapy from New York University, and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. During graduate school she interned at the Queen’s Family Court and Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, providing support for youth and families involved in the criminal justice system. Since graduating Angela has worked primarily with survivors of trauma in a variety of settings; such as in-home family therapy, an outpatient AIDS clinic, and a shelter for trafficked women in Peru. Angela was drawn to work with individuals struggling with eating disorders as she found that most of her clients, regardless of background, were attempting to repair a disconnect between mind and body. She began working with Center For Discovery in 2017 as a floater therapist for residential treatment facilities. She is excited to continue working with Center For Discovery, assisting clients to heal and develop safe relationships with their bodies, and to grow in their recovery.

Samantha Bothwell earned her Master’s of Art in Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate University. After graduation, Samantha worked with children and adult survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Samantha is passionate about working with people to create a life that reflects their true self. Samantha is excited to continue her career with Center for Discovery, helping clients make peace with food and ultimately with themselves. Outside of work, Samantha enjoys painting, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.

Stephanie Lopez, BS

Diet Technician

Stephanie Lopez earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nutritional Science and Dietetics from the California State University of Long Beach. Ms. Lopez has also attended UCLA School of Pre-Hospital Care where she was trained to be an Emergency Medical Technician. Ms. Lopez has been working in various clinical environments at a large scale hospital since 2015 and started her service as a Diet Technician with Center for Discovery in 2018.
She has found a passion working with clients of all ages struggling in general health, eating disorders, and in emergency medical situations. Ms. Lopez is thrilled to continue her future with Center For Discovery, helping clients overcome their struggles with food and general wellbeing. Outside of work Ms. Lopez enjoys surfing, hiking, and reading. She continues to further her education with the goal of becoming an Officer in the United States Navy.
